— 0000 – weapon involved with a “45” load of IAs
— 1700 –  MP 34/SR 286 MSS (Mobile Surveillance System)  spots 2 armed individuals wearing camo.  Borstar/Bortac agents (with Omaha assist) jumped the two individuals, recovering  9mm ammunition and a loaded 357 magnum handgun. Further search of the area recovered  discarded camouflage clothing and a buried long gun. The two individuals were suspected of
being part of a “Rip Crew”

Note that the numbers of suspected illegal aliens listed below are based on actual sightings from Border Patrol and other law enforcement in a defined section of desert between Phoenix and Tucson.  The majority of the people and drugs mentioned in these audio files evade capture.  And this is just what they detect.  The border with Mexico is far from secure.

Significant Events in audio:
— High winds throughout the day limited tracking efforts and air support, contributing to the low group/body count.
— A high number of false alarms reported from field detection devices due to high winds rendered that detection
method un-reliable. This condition is common and leaves Border Patrol blind at the border.  Smugglers know and take                     advantage of this.
— Air support (conspicuously absent on Saturday night) was back up in force last night (including multiple “Hi-Fliers”)

in ground transport vehicles.
